I’m so over this effing snow…

Today we got 9″.  That was between 11AM and 7PM.  We’re expecting another 4″ overnight and 2 – 3″ tomorrow.  Driving home from work this evening was an exercise in vigilance because the plows couldn’t keep up with the rate of the snow falling.  Luckily, today was a holiday (Presidents Day – whoopee!) and it kept traffic to a minimum.  It took me an hour to get home; I think it would have easily taken me 2+ if the freeways had the normal amount of cars on them.

On Friday we received 13-15″ depending on which local news station you watch.  All told, we’ve had over 22″ of snow in February alone.  The record for Central Ohio is 29″ and some change.  Needless to say, we’re going to shatter that.  It’s not forecast to get above 30 degrees this week so we’ll have to just suffer through.  There’s talk of ANOTHER Alberta Clipper system that could dump additional snow on us.  Mother Nature is definitely on my shit list this year.  I’m just sayin’…

Anyways, here’s pics of our lovely winter wonderland.  Wanna come visit? 🙂

It’s crazy this year! This is what happens when there haven’t been any sunspots for like 2 years. I never realized how much I liked them, because I really hate the snow and cold!

NO KIDDING! This kind of snow is unprecedented in Central Ohio. We’re off the charts in terms of snowfall. We’re supposed to get at least an inch to three inches every day between now and Friday. Level 2 Snow Emergency in place meaning that if it’s not essential for you to be out there, stay home. Even Ohio State shut down!

That light fixture looks like it could be really dangerous if you turned the light on!

We have those icicles EVERYWHERE! I knocked down the ones in front of the back door with a broom so that the puppehs didn’t get impaled. I grabbed a shovel this morning at 6AM and cleared them a path down the steps, out the deck, and into the yard. Of course, they ignored it once they hit the deep snow. They have to bound through the snow because it’s up to their necks.

Ah, snow. I remember snow. Back in ’93-94, that winter span, northeastern IL had about 41″ between Jan and Feb. That was fun. And with northern IL temps, guess how much melted off?

That’s exactly the kind of pattern we’re in. It’s crazy, but I love it. Believe it or not, but it’s snowing… AGAIN.

Yeah, snow. It’s a blast, ain’t it? But it’s so pretty, remember?

It’s still pretty… pretty much a pain in the ass 😀 I still find wonder in it though. I know we won’t have a winter like this again for oh, 20 years or so. I’m trying to document it for Squish since I’m pretty sure she won’t remember it.
