Can’t Get Enough of the SquishyPants…

Some of you have asked about what arrangements we made so that I could go back to work.  We were lucky and found a really great babysitter through a friend of mine at work.  His best friend’s wife had a baby 5 weeks (to the day!) before Mallory was born and was thinking  about opening an in-home day care instead of going back to her job.  We sat down with them 2 weeks after he was born, hammered out some terms and answered the major, “What Ifs,” and got everything figured out.  It’s such a win-win for both of our families.

I went back to work 8 weeks after her birth and completely LOVE our babysitter.  I get a form every day letting me know when she slept, when she ate (and how much), as well as the results of her diaper changes.  She’s also great at making sure she has enough tummy time and other developmental necessities.  I like the fact that I can ‘look ahead’ to the milestones that Timmy is achieving and have a rough idea of when Mallory should be doing those things.  Plus, Sam is an awesome resource when I have first-time-mom questions.

Timmy’s already rolling around and resting on his elbows.  Mallory is content to chill on her back but is showing more interest in getting on her belly.  Sam sent me these pictures today of the kids hanging out.  Timmy rolled over to be closer to Mal ‘hey-baby-what’s up-style’ and fell asleep holding on to her blanket.   Pretty soon Sam is going to have her hands full with both little ones being mobile!

Mom is going to be babysitting on Thursday because Timmy is having some testing done.  He has a narrowed aorta and will be going in for surgery in the near future.  Mom and Jamie will be filling in while he’s in the hospital recovering.  Please keep him and his family in your thoughts; we certainly are.
